Coe Creek Farm, located in northwest lower Michigan, is home
to a variety of livestock raised in a pasture-based environment. Our crossbred
white-faced sheep flock and Shorthorn/Red Devon beef cattle graze and browse the
grasses, shrubs, and forbs of the farm during the spring, summer, and fall
months. During the winter, they are sustained by the hay we raise here on the
farm. We use no chemical fertilizers, no pesticides, and no herbicides on the
farm or in the gardens.
Coe Creek Farm is also home to a bee yard, a small flock of pastured hens that
are supplemented by organic grains, three ducks, Fly the border collie, and the
cats that keep the rodent population in check. Norwegian Fjord horses Alvik and
Bjorgy, along with our boarder horse, Bea, keep us on our toes. We sell freezer
beef and lamb, wool products, honey, beeswax candles, and support the Leroy
Farmers' Market with these goods plus vegetables from our chemical free garden.
