Another snowy day. We have had almost a full month of winter weather now. The cross country skiing is pretty good, and new snow refurbishes the trails every day. More to the point, it generally hides the previous day's track. Mike and Judy, we don't have an archive of previous newsletters. They are the same articles that appear weekly in the Marion Press. I do have them saved, but it would probably be impossible to find any specific thing, unless I knew the date. I appreciate your comments on the election and the recent newsletter. More of us in our area share these views than in times past, and that is an encouraging sign. Thanks for your comments. They mean a lot to us.

Betsy....We so agree with everything you said in your last newsletter! If we all just could learn to be interested in and enjoy our diversity what a better world this would be! We were very happy with the results of the election too....and hope for better things for our country in the coming years. Can we get old copies of your newsletters? I have missed so many of them. Always mean to check your website...but work and other things get in the way. I bet that you are enjoying this snowy December! Enjoy celebrating all the festivals of the season! What a great idea! Betsy, when I read about your opened eyes after getting glasses, I remember just the same. I began to see bad when I was 15, notices it when I could no lionger see what was written on the blackboard in school. I had to ask my mate Barbro. So I went to the school sister ad she found that I needed glasses. When I had been to the optician and got my squareshaped, black spectacle frames, I went out on the big street there in Stockholm, it was in late spring and I discovered something. Was it possible to see the leaves in the trees so sharp!? I never knew! So detailed! i spent the rest of the day comparing everythingwith and without the specs. A new world!

Our Farmers' Market in Leroy had its last market for the season yesterday. It was a lovely day, a perfect ending to the season. Last year, we spent our last market Saturday in a cold rain. This time, it almost seemed as if none of the farmer-vendors were very anxious to go home. We stood around and talked a bit, and it was almost a melancholy atmosphere as we all headed our separate ways. This has been a gorgeous fall weekend with the hardwoods in our area in glorious color. Makes us realize that we'd better hasten to complete those jobs that need doing before winter. Every day is an adventure.
