'Tis chicken soup season for sure. I made some yesterday, much like yours only I baked a chicken while I got my hair cut and visited with friends. When I got home I added the green onions, some carrots and store bought noodles and of course salt and pepper and the chicken pulled off its bones. Delivered some to my sister who has pnemonia and am taking a quart to a friend who will have chemo tomorrow on my way to the volleyball game along with some fresh cherry pie...cherries I bought at farmer's market last summer all pitted and froze. Can't wait for our supper. Janet

I can't get over how much you've knitted, Janet. I have heard that knitting socks is addictive, and I am thinking that you have gotten that bug. But, it is a pretty positive addiction, and with this cold weather, you can always find friends who appreciate warm socks, especially the hand knit kind. I've made just two pairs this winter, but they are fun to knit.

I am wondering if we will ever see spring again. I've knitted 20 pair of sox,(started the 21st pair this weekend) 2 shawls, and a couple pair of mittens and if the weather continues...well, who knows what else I might be tempted to do. I don't like the weather like you hearty souls do.

Your cronicle (right spell?) about food and time to eat is wonderful. I wish you could send it to our local newspaper as well. It is an important stuff as the fast food culture is growing even here. Woolwitch

The snow banks are rising again after the January thaw, and we are not complaining about that. It looks like a skiing or snowshoeing tour is in the works for this afternoon. The sun is shining part of the time, and we "own" fields of diamonds as the new flakes sparkle in the light. The cinnamon rolls are out of the oven, the fires are stoked, and it's time to enjoy the fresh, crisp air of a Michigan winter.
