CommentIf you read the newsletter this week, you'll find a few strange words. When I use one of the Swedish vowels that is not an English vowel, it seems to just skip the whole thing. We'll see if it works on this part. The correct saying is "Mina kära grönsaker" thanks to Susanne.

CommentPolly had her calf early this morning--a pretty dark red heifer with a large white spot in her forehead. She will be Stjärnkulla and join Rölla and Litego to play in the grass and flowers of summer while their mothers pasture.

CommentWe are going to try to use this guest book page for a little online journaling from time to time. On this sunny day, the last day of June, we spent a few hours in the garden. We are trying to catch up after haying season. The purslane has lots of Vitamin C, but it surely covers the ground between the vegetables we planted in a big hurry. But, things are looking a little neater there now.

CommentBetsy, A copy of your book "On the Edge of the Slashing" has made it to Capetown South Africa with my cousin that lives there. I enjoyed the book so I gave her one too. You are now a world renown author. Thanks for writing the book and your newsletters. I especially enjoyed your writing about Dynamite and barn in the book. My uncle fixed (Removed) many things with Dynamite.

CommentHi Betsy, I have it down to a science now. I check your web-site on a by-weekly, Monday evening basis, and I find your latest writing. It's always fun, and many times inspiring. Thanks to your encouragement today; I have decided to plant a larger garden this spring. But, we are also lucky to live in an area where we also have delicious fruit and vegetables produced around us and have found farmers' market products wonderful too. No more Chinese apples for us; I discovered Elk Rapids' varieties last fall and couldn't believe the difference in flavor. Thanks for helping me remember those apples! Cheryl
