Lambs and Breeding Stock

We raise sheep and other livestock without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. We use a system of controlled grazing, utilizing electrical fences and Carlos the llama as predator control, and try to follow a policy of coexistence with the rest of the creatures in our environment.

The sheep graze the diversified grasses, legumes, and forbs of the meadows and browse the brush land of the farm. They are outside all year except for the period between shearing in March and the end of lambing season at the beginning of May. During the winter, we feed them on the clean snow of their summer pastures.

White faced crossbred ewes and ewe lambs as well as some rams are available. These sheep are enrolled in the Federal voluntary scrapie reduction program, are hoof rot and sore month free, and have never been off the farm, so they have not been exposed to show sheep which move from place to place. Reasonable prices. E-mail us for details.
